Child singing

A Dazzling Performance for the Ages

This week, we held our ‘End Of Year Event’ here at Atidaynu. It was truly wholesome to see the parents watching their children, cheering them on together. After much preparation with Mr. Shabbos, our students displayed true confidence and companionship singing beautifully and remembering cues.

We had been practicing for months, and it was incredibly rewarding to see the students grow and learn. As the weeks went by, we got to see their confidence blossom, singing together beautifully. While at times challenging, Mr.Shabbos and I worked hard to encourage the students to work past their comfort zone. Event practice isn’t merely about learning songs, and singing them. We worked on complex lyrics, singing audibly, following cues, recalling lines, confident delivery, delegated roles, and working with a group.

Preparing for the event, we chose topic-specific songs, and delegated parts for each one. Class 2a and 2b joined together for an outstanding Shabbos themed performance. We learned memorable songs, while also learning a large amount about Shabbos. Mr. Shabbos taught about the Shabbos procession in an elaborate musical recital. During practice, there are times where different students had to compromise, share a solo, switch places, etc. and they amazed us by working to help each other shine.

Mr.Shabbos and I immensely enjoyed performing the music alongside the students. They each presented proudly and confidently. Following the end of year performances, the parents were invited to enjoy a carnival with their children. The therapists put together fun and relevant booths for all of us to enjoy. Kayla’s booth featured her furry friend, Schnitzel!

After the carnival, it was time to hand out awards. Each teacher came up to call out different awards for their students’ hard work. Everyone also received their own adorable custom-named Atidaynu sweatshirt to wear proudly.

Proceeding an incredible 10 months of productivity and growth, we sat down to watch a video presentation, giving a small glimpse into the day-to-day world here at Atidaynu. Some of our dedicated staff shared some of their experiences and incites. I must say, with the amazing end of year celebration, our future really looks bright.
