Mock Wedding

Learning about proper wedding etiquette during life skills was fundamental for Atidaynu students but bringing it to life was remarkable. After learning about Yaakov and Leah’s wedding, Atidaynu students were curious to see what an epic wedding looked like and making our students’ dreams come true is our joy. As we always try to do, this wedding was a collaborative project amongst a few of our departments including life skills, music, drama, and culture.

After days of practice, the big day arrived. Before “heading out” to the wedding, we got our hair done by our renowned hairdresser, Naomi Hindy and got our makeup done by our acclaimed makeup artist, Mrs. Esther Endzweig. We dressed up as spiffy and glamorous as can be.

The Event:

We started by taking family photos. The Bride with her family and the Groom with his family. We then moved on to the Kabolas Ponim. The bride walked down the aisle and sat down on her magnificent chair. All guests and family proceeded to wish her a heartwarming “mazal tov”. Next, the groom walked in and approached his Bride, and covered her face with a veil. We then proceeded with the Chuppah by having both sets of parents walk their children down the aisle, then the Bride circled the Groom 7 times while enchanting music was played in the background.

After the Groom broke the glass under the chuppah, we all sat down for a gourmet catered meal. The waiters took orders and brought the food to each student. After partaking of the scrumptious meal, we proceeded to dance and had a blast. The Atidaynu band played their instruments and the singers entertained us with songs, and all the while, our students were learning, growing, and creating fun and meaningful memories.
